Campamentos de agosto - LLENOS

Hola hola!

Hace un par de semanas se terminó el plazo para enviar solicitudes para los campamentos multiaventura de inglés de Agosto por la Junta de Castilla y León, para los cuáles ofertábamos 100 plazas (50 cada semana).

La gente fue apuntándose tímidamente, pero cuando se cerró el plazo nos encontramos con una sorpresa. No sólo los campamentos se han llenado (incluso con algún antiguo campista de campamentos del año pasado), sino que se han quedado en lista de espera... ¡¡¡¡¡más de 450 niños y niñas!!!!!

Para todos los que os hayáis quedado fuera, recordad que todavía podéis apuntaros en los campamentos de Julio, para los que aún hay plazas.

New year, new design

Good morning everyone! (already afternoon for the English people!)

As a new summer is coming, we have decided to change our blog and set a new design, we hope you like it! We have chosen the slogan "coming alive" as we think it is a quite appropriate one. Sedano is a very beautiful village with an incomparable scenery, but it is a small village with few inhabitants throughout the year as it is the case of many 'Castilla y León' villages.

However, summer is coming and hundreds of kids have already applied to come to our camps, so we are going to help the village come alive in a certain way. Let's uncover all those hidden fossils, discover new clues, make some new friends and enjoy the experience.

If you haven't applied yet, you'll find all the information in www.residenciasedano.com. This year children will face up to many changes and quite a few surprises! What are you waiting for? Come alive!

¡Buenos días a todo el mundo! (¡tardes, para los ingleses!)

Como se acerca ya otro verano más, hemos decidido cambiar el blog y crear un nuevo diseño, ¡esperamos que os guste! Hemos elegido el eslógan "cobrando vida" ya que pensamos que es uno bastante apropiado. Sedano es un pueblo precioso con unas vistas inmejorables, pero es un pueblo pequeño con no muchos habitantes a lo largo del año, tal y como es el caso de mucho pueblos de Castilla y León.

Sin embargo, se acerca el verano y cientos de niños ya se han apuntado para venir a nuestros campamentos, así que vamos a ayudar en cierto modo al pueblo a 'cobrar vida'. Vamos a descubrir todos esos fósiles ocultos, descubrir nuevas pistas, hacer nuevos amigos y disfrutar de la experiencia.

August 4th week - The end

Hello everyone!

Summer has just finished and today we've said goodbye to the last camp in August. Yesterday the children had their last English lessons, but what they liked the most were the Olympics, where six different teams competed among them, each one representing a different river in the area, to see who was the summer champion.

We had some competition games in the morning and then games all together in the afternoon, but the best part of the day was the final game at night, the prize giving and the disco.

It's been a pleasure and we've enjoyed this month with you all. We hope to see you next year.

Hola a todos!

El verano ha llegado a su fin y hoy hemos despedido al último campamento de este mes de Agosto. Ayer terminamos con las últimas clases de inglés, pero lo que más ha gustado han sido los juegos olímpicos, en los que hemos competido en seis equipos, cada uno representando a un río de la zona, para ver quién es el campeón del verano.

Hicimos juegos de competición por la mañana y juegos todos juntos por la tarde, pero lo mejor llegó por la noche cuando tuvimos el juego final, la entrega de los premios del campamento y la disco.

Ha sido un placer disfrutar este mes con todos vosotros y esperamos que al año que viene nos volvamos a ver.

August 4th week - Day 5

Hi everyone!

On Thursday we had the orientation around Sedano in the morning activities. 4 different teams had to move around the landscape looking for clues in less than 2 hours. Amazingly, in this last camp all the groups found all the clues! Previously, in the morning lessons, they had already learnt how to read a map and how to get their bearings. In the afternoon lessons they prepared a small performance based on TV shows; each class had to prepare their own programmes in order to perform them later in front of everyone. There were news, series, films, soap operas...

At night they finally had the talent show they had been waiting for, as their behaviour had improved during the day. There were some dances, songs and theatre, we even saw a Batman and Red Riding Hood performance!

Hola a todos!

Ayer jueves tuvimos la orientación por Sedano en las actividades de mañana. 4 equipos diferentes tenían que moverse por el paisaje buscando pistas en menos de 2 horas. Sorprendentemente, en este último campamento todos los grupos encontraron todas las pistas! Previamente, en las clases de la mañana, ya habían aprendido a leer un mapa y a orientarse. En las clases de la tarde prepararon una pequeña representación basada en programas de televisión; cada clase tenía que preparar sus propios programas para poder representarlos más tarde delante de todo el mundo. Hubo noticias, series, películas, telenovelas...

Por la noche finalmente tuvieron el talent show que tanto habían estado esperando, ya que su comportamiento había mejorado durante el día. Hubo bailes, canciones y teatro, incluso vimos un representación de Batman y Caperucita Roja!

August 4th week - Day 4

Hello everyone!

Yesterday was the middle of the camp, so the end is near. It was a very quiet day, as they had had the hike the previous day. In the morning lessons they talked about recycling and about the fossils they found the day before, classified them and talked about fossil fuels and renewable energies. Then in the activities they had two different animal workshops; in one of them they had to make a lizard using a peg and in the other one an owl with a nutshell.

In the afternoon they practised for the "talent show", but unfortunately and due to their behaviour, the "talent show" was cancelled and they played a short game instead. If their behaviour improves today, there'll be talent show tonight. The afternoon game was "bulldog", and after it they went to the swimming pool even though the weather is getting really cold!

Hola a todos!

Ayer fue la mitad del campamento, así que el final se aproxima. Fue un día muy tranquilo, ya que el día anterior habían tenido marcha. En las clases de la mañana hablaron sobre el reciclaje y sobre los fósiles que encontraron el día de la marcha, los clasificaron y hablaron sobre combustibles fósiles y energías renovables. Luego en las actividades hicieron dos talleres diferentes de animales; en uno de ellos tenían que hacer un lagarto utilizando una pinza de la ropa y en el otro un búho con una cáscara de nuez.

Por la tarde practicaron para el "show de talentos", pero desafortunadamente y debido a su comportamiento, el "show" fue cancelado y jugaron en su lugar a un juego rápido. Si su comportamiento mejora hoy, habrá show de talentos hoy por la noche. El juego de la tarde fue "bulldog", y después fueron a la piscina incluso aunque el tiempo se está poniendo ya bastante revuelto y el frío ya está aquí!

August 4th week - Day 3

Hello everybody!

Yesterday we went to the “Blue Pit”, which is alleged to be the longest underwater cave in the world, with a constant temperatura of 8ºC all the year long, We had a cloudy but warm day, so it was perfect to hike. Just a few of them were brave enough to go into the Blue Pit, because the water was really freezing! Then in Covanera we had lunch, rested for a while and came back to the residence.

On our way back we had time to go up the mountain to look for fossils, as millions of years ago this valley was full of water and so the remains of old plants and animals are inside the mountains. After that, they enjoyed the swimming pool and at night we had a very relaxing night, watching the Wall·E film. This film deals with the topic of recycling, which will be seen today in class.

Hola a todo el mundo!

Ayer fuimos al “Pozo Azul”, que se cree que es la cueva submarina más larga del mundo, con una temperatura constante de 8ªC durante todo el año. Tuvimos un día nublado pero agradable, así que era perfecto para caminar. Tan sólo unos pocos de ellos fueron lo suficientemente valientes como para entrar al Pozo Azul, porque el agua estaba realmente fría! Luego en Covanera comimos, descansamos un rato y volvimos a la resi.

En el camino de vuelta tuvimos tiempo para subir a la montaña a buscar fósiles, ya que hace millones de años este valle estaba lleno de agua y por lo tanto los restos de plantas y animales están dentro de las montañas. Tras ello, disfrutaron de la piscina y por la noche tuvimos una noche muy tranquila, viendo la película de Wall·E. Esta peli trata el tema del reciclaje, que será hoy visto en clase.
