August - 1st camp [Days 6 and 7 - THE END]

...and finally we got to the last days! Your children will have already told you what they did, but now you have here the pictures to see it.

On Thursday we had climbing and abseiling in the mountain. It was scary but fun at the same time; there were some children who didn't dare to do it, though! There was also a talk by a man from the Junta de Castilla y León, which the children enjoyed, and they also played some water games, apart from other varied games, as it was really hot. In the evening they had some extra time to prepare their luggage and at night we played "Chinese Laundry", a game where the children had to face different small games to make their team win!

Then the last day came, on Friday the 8th. We woke up earlier because we went to do rafting down river Ebro. It was their favourite activity in the camp, for sure!

We hope they all have enjoyed the camp here, and we will be here for everyone you need. Who knows! Maybe the school where your children go decide to come here during the academic year!

... y finalmente llegamos a los últimos días! Vuestros hijos ya os habrán contado lo que hicieron, pero ahora ya tenéis las fotos para poder verlo.

El jueves hicieron escalada y rappel en la montaña. Dio un poco de miedo pero fue divertido a la vez; sin embargo, hubo algunos chicos que no se atrevieron a hacerlo! También hubo una charla de un chico contratado por la Junta de Castilla y León y jugaron a algunos juegos de agua, aparte de otros juegos variados, ya que hacía mucho calor. Por la tarde-noche tuvieron algo más de tiempo para preparar las maletas y por la noche jugamos al "Chinese Laundry", un juego en el que los niños tenían que enfrentarse a diferentes pruebas para hacer que su equipo ganara!

Y llegó el último día, el viernes. Nos levantamos más pronto porque teníamos que salir para hacer rafting por el río Ebro. Fue lo que más les gustó del campamento, seguro!

Esperamos que les haya gustado el campamento y estaremos aquí para cualquier cosa que necesitéis. Quién sabe! A lo mejor la escuela a la que van vuestros hijos decide venir aquí de inmersión lingüística a lo largo del curso!

July 16th-29th [28th and 29th - End of camp]

Good morning!

With some delay, but here are the pictures from the last days!

- On Monday the "Hunger Games" took place! It consisted on a series of games which were played during the day between four different teams. The games lasted for the whole day and there were some already known games and some new games. The children had to be careful, because there were some unsafe areas during the day where they couldn't stay, otherwise the leaders would chase them! At night we played Chinese Laundry to finish the Hunger Games and we had the final party before leaving the camp.

- On Tuesday we went rafting to say goodbye to the camp. The children went down river Ebro for 7-8 km. on boats and they enjoyed it a lot. Then in the afternoon everyone left the camp.

We hope it was a good experience for you all and we really hope to see you again soon. Enjoy the rest of the summer!

Buenos días!

Con cierto retraso, pero aquí están las fotos de los últimos días.

- El lunes tuvieron lugar los "Juegos del Hambre"! Consistían en una serie de juegos que se desarrollaron a lo largo del día entre cuatro equipos diferentes. Los juegos duraron todo el día y los chicos jugaron a algunos juegos ya conocidos y otros nuevos. Tenían que tener cuidado, porque a lo largo del día había zonas que no eran seguras y no podían estar ahí; si los monitores les veían en un área no segura les perseguían! Por la noche jugamos a la "Chinese Laundry" para terminar los juegos del hambre, que es un juego consistente en varias pruebas pequeñas, y tuvimos la última fiesta antes de irnos del campa.

- El martes fuimos a hacer rafting para despedir el campamento. Los chicos bajaron por el río Ebro unos 7-8 km. en botes y se lo pasaron pipa. Luego por la tarde todo el mundo se fue.

Esperamos que la experiencia fuera buena para todos vosotros y esperamos volver a veros pronto. Disfrutad del resto del verano!

July 1st-14th [Days 12 to 14 - The End]

And without even realising it, the end of the camp was here! But what did we do in the last days? Let's remember!

- On Saturday we had the multi-adventure activities. The children went abseiling and climbing to a close mountain, and the ones staying in the residence tried some slacklining and got started in caving. At night they had the horror night! There were some children who were braver than others, but most of them got at least a bit scared!

- There were some workshops on Sunday to calm them down after the multi-adventure day. They made a nest and tried to make an egg, but the result wasn't that good! In the afternoon we played some water balloon games, as weather was finally fine. At night we had the amazing Chinese Laundry, with a lot of crazy games, and our final "ball" or "prom". The children danced and cried because they were leaving on the next day!

- And as time flies, the last day was here. On Monday they went rafting down River Ebro, and in the afternoon they left the residence in order to continue their summer holidays in their villages or cities.

The group has been really good and we really hope to see you all again next summer. For some of you, it was the fourth year here! Why not try the 5th one? We'll miss you all, have a good summer!

Y sin ni siquiera darnos cuenta, llegamos al final del campamento! Pero qué hicimos durante los últimos días? Vamos a echar la vista atrás!

- El sábado fue el día multi-aventura. Los niños hicieron rappel y escalada en una montaña cercana, y los que se quedaban en la residencia mientras hicieron slacklining y se iniciaron en espeleología. Por la noche fue la noche de miedo! Hubo algunos más valientes que otros, pero la mayoría de ellos se fueron al menos un pelín asustados.

- El domingo hicimos unos talleres para que se relajaran un poco tras el día multi-aventura. Hicieron un nido e intentaron hacer un huevo, pero el resultado no fue tan bueno! Por la tarde jugamos a juegos con globos de agua ya que por fin nos hizo bueno! Por la noche tuvimos el gran juego "Chinese Laundry", con un montón de pruebas locas, y nuestro baile final. Los niños bailaron y lloraron a partes iguales porque se iban al día siguiente!

- Y como el tiempo vuelo, llegamos al último día. El lunes fueron a hacer rafting al río Ebro y por la tarde se fueron de la residencia para continuar sus vacaciones de verano en sus pueblos y/o ciudades.

El grupo ha sido muy bueno y esperamos volver a veros todos el año que viene. Para algunos de vosotros fue el cuarto año aquí! Por qué no intentar el quinto? Os echaremos de menos, pasad un buen verano!

Miranda school [Days 1, 2 and 3]

Good evening everyone!

Sorry for the delay, but here we are again. We have had some Internet trouble, but it looks as though it is solved (or half-solved at least) now. Thanks to Selena, you'll have already been informed, but here's some extra information about these days.

We have just got to the third day of the camp and the end is nearer and nearer. We have done so many things so far:

- On the first day we got to know the residence and its surroundings. The kids had their first contact with teachers and leaders, they played one of the favourite games in the camp until now ("Ass to the grass" or "Walking dead" are some names used to describe it) and also played an orientation game around the facilities where they had to find some envelopes with pieces of a puzzle inside. By the end of the day, they were absolutely exhausted!

- Things were quieter on the second day. In the morning activities they created their own footprints after the English lessons, which would be later used to create a story. They also played some "it" games related to animals, and looked for fossils in the mountains. They will show them to you in a few days! At night we had another orientation game, but this time in the village and using a map.

- Today we went to the "Pozo Azul", one of the longest underwater caves in Europe. After the morning lessons we headed for Covanera, which is the village where the "Pozo Azul" is located. We had lunch there and discovered why the "Pozo Azul" is called that way! It was amazing, and there some brave kids who decided to get into the freezing water. Now they are playing some night games where they have to identify their mates at night just with the aid of their torches.

Buenas noches a todo el mundo!

Sentimos mucho la espera, pero aquí estamos de nuevo. Hemos tenido algunos problemillas con internet, pero parece que ya está solucionado (o medio solucionado) por el momento. Gracias a Selena ya habréis sido informados, pero aquí tenéis información extra sobre estos días

Acabamos de llegar al tercer día de campa y el final está cada vez más cerca. Hasta ahora ya hemos hecho unas cuantas cosas:

- El primer día conocimos la residencia y sus alrededores. Los chicos tuvieron su primer contacto con profesores y monitores, jugaron uno de los juegos favoritso del campamento hasta ahora ("El vivo al hoyo" es el nombre oficial para describirlo) y también hicieron un juego de orientación alrededor de las instalaciones, donde tenían que encontrar unos sobres con piezas de un puzle en su interior. Al final del día estaban todos agotadísimos!

- Las cosas fueron más tranquilas el segundo día. En las actividades de la mañana hicieron sus propias huellas tras las clases de inglés, las cuales serían utilizadas más tarde para crear una historia. También jugaron a algunos juegos de pilla-pilla relacionados con animales y buscaron fósiles por las montañas. ¡Os los enseñarán en unos días! Por la noche hicimos otro juego de orientación, pero esta vez en el pueblo y utilizando un mapa.

- Hoy hemos ido al Pozo Azul, una de las cuevas submarinas más largas de Europa. Después de las clases de por la mañana nos dirigimos hacia Covanera, el pueblo donde se encuentra el Pozo. Allí comimos y descubrimos porqué el Pozo Azul recibe ese nombre. Era impresionante y hubo algunos chicos y chicas valientes que se atrevieron a meterse en esa agua tan fría. Ahora están haciendo algunos juegos en los que tienen que identificar a sus compañeros de noche tan sólo con la ayuda de sus linternas.
