August 3rd week - Day 6 [End of camp]

 Hello hello!

The end has come, and now all the children are in their houses. They'll tell you what they did yesterday for sure, but I'll tell you anyway. Yesterday was a very special day, because they had the Olympics! Some Romans visited us to introduce the games after the morning lessons, and then they played different games throughout the day. In the morning they played "dodge ball", "group fights" and "Chinese football"; in the afternoon they had a swimming race and played a very funny game where they had to catch colour caps with different powers each. Also, in the afternoon lessons they prepared a newspaper which would be later shown to the rest of the groups.

At night they played the last game of the Olympics and also the last one of the camp, which was the "Chinese Laundry", my favourite game of the camp, where the children had different tests and they got points according to their performance. Finally, river Ebro won the Olympics! After the night game, we played some music and had some fun before going to bed.

It's been a great pleasure, and we hope to see you all again really soon. Enjoy the end of summer!

Hola hola!

Ya ha llegado el fin, y ahora los niños están ya en sus casas. Seguramente os contarán lo que hicieron ayer, pero yo también os lo diré de todos modos! Ayer fue un día muy especial, porque tuvieron los juegos Olímpicos! Algunos Romanos nos visitaron para presentar los juegos tras las clases de la mañana, y luego jugaron a algunos juegos a lo largo del día. Por la mañana jugaron a "campos quemados", "luchas grupales" y "fútbol chino"; por la tarde tuvieron una carrera en la piscina y jugaron a un juego muy divertido en el que tenían que coger gorras de colores con diferentes poderes cada una. Además, en las clases de la tarde prepararon un periódico que más tarde sería mostrado al resto de grupos.

Por la noche jugaron al último juego de las Olimpiadas y también el último del campa, que es la "Chinese Laundry", mi juego favorito, donde los niños tenían diferentes pruebas y conseguían puntos según su actuación. FInalmente, el río Ebro ganó las olimpiadas! Después de la velada, pusimos música y nos lo pasamos genial antes de irnos a la cama.

Ha sido un gran placer para todos nosotros, y esperamos veros a todos pronto. Disfrutad lo que queda de verano!!

 

August 3rd week - Day 5

Hello everyone!

Yesterday, on Thursday, we had a really busy day. After the morning English lessons, we had an orientation race in 4 teams, which consisted of finding different clues around the residence in the mountain and the village. We had such good weather and we enjoyed it a lot.

In the afternoon, each class prepared a small theatre in English, imitating different TV shows and we went outside to perform them before going to the pool. At night we played "glow worm" in the playground, on of the most amusing night games. See you tomorrow!

Hola a todos!

Ayer jueves tuvimos un día muy completo. Por la mañana después de clase de inglés hicimos un circuito de orientación en cuatro equipos en el que teníamos que encontrar diferentes balizas por los alrededores de la residencia. Nos hizo muy buen tiempo y nos lo pasamos genial.

Por la tarde cada clase preparo una obra de teatro en inglés, imitando diferentes canales de televisión y salimos a la calle a representarlas antes de ir a la piscina. Ya por la noche jugamos a la luciérnaga en el campo de fútbol, uno de los juegos nocturnos más divertidos. ¡Mañana nos vemos!

August 3rd week - Day 4

Hi everyone!

Today, after the hiking day, we had a rest, enjoying a lovely sunny day in Sedano.

The morning began with two workshops related to recycling: a simple crocodile made of pegs and an original owl with nuts and felt.

We continued with the creative day of the camp by rehearsing for the night talent show. This was followed by one of the best games of the week: “Pressing kiss”

After a peaceful and warm afternoon in the swimming pool, we enjoyed maybe the best performances ever seen in Sedano, it will be quite difficult to decide the winner.

Hoy, tras el día de marcha, descansamos disfrutando de un relajante día en Sedano. 

Empezamos la mañana con dos talleres con material reciclado: un sencillo cocodrilo con pinzas y un original búho con nueces y fieltro.

Continuamos la jornada creativa de la semana con la preparación del concurso de talentos de la noche seguido de uno de los mejores juegos del campamento: “Pressing kiss”

Tras una apacible tarde de piscina y calor, disfrutamos de las que quizás sean las mejores actuaciones que hemos visto por Sedano, decidir quien es el ganador no va a ser tarea fácil.

August 3rd week - Day 3

Hi all!

Yesterday we had one of the most amusing days in the camp, we went hiking to the blue pit! In the morning we prepared our bags after breakfast with the swimsuit, water, sun cream... everything we needed for an adventure day. The way to Covanera is plain and we got there in less than 2 hours; once there, there were only 700m more to the blue pit, the longest underwater cave in the world. The water was freezing, but there were some brave ones who dared to get into the pit to refresh them. We were lucky enough to see some scuba divers coming out of the pit.

Back in Sedano, we passed near the mountain with the church to take some millenary fossils, as all this place was full of water a lot of time ago. We also saw the necropolis in Sedano, which is around 5.000 years old. Later we came back down to the residence to play some games and enjoy the swimming pool, something that we all really deserved.

Hola a todos!

Ayer tuvimos uno de los días más entretenidos del campamento, ¡nos fuimos de marcha al pozo azul!. Por la mañana después de desayunar, preparamos nuestras mochilas con el bañador, el agua, la crema solar... todo lo necesario para un día de aventura. El camino hasta Covanera es llano y llegamos en menos de dos horas, una vez allí ya solo quedaban 700m hasta el pozo azul, la cueva acuática más grande del mundo. El agua estaba super fría, pero unos cuantos valientes se atrevieron a meterse un poco para refrescarse. Tuvimos la suerte de ver a unos buzos saliendo del pozo.

Ya de vuelta a Sedano, pasamos por el monte de la iglesia para recoger fósiles milenarios, ya que hace mucho tiempo toda esta zona era un fondo marino. También vimos la necrópolis de Sedano, de hace unos 5000 años. Y después bajamos a la residencia a hacer juegos y disfrutar de la piscina, que nos lo merecíamos todos.

August 3rd week - Day 2

Good evening everyone! Sorry for the delay, but today we’ve been hiking and we got late to the residence, so we haven’t had any time to upload pictures earlier. Yesterday we had the first full day. The kids were placed into class groups and had their first English lessons. In the morning activities we created a “Nature box”, to put things inside like fossils or workshops. Then they made some stamp footprints and created a story later in the afternoon lessons. The afternoon game was “the dove”, which is like baseball but with a football, and they enjoyed it a lot. At night we had an orientation game where they had to find some envelopes around the residence with pieces of puzzle inside in order to do a puzzle later. No groups were able to find them all, so we had to help them a little bit. Tomorrow morning we’ll upload the pictures from the hike. Bye bye!

Buenas tardes/noches! Perdón por el retraso, pero hoy hemos estado de marcha y hemos llegado tarde a la residencia, así que no hemos tenido tiempo de subir fotos antes. Ayer tuvimos el primer día completo. Los chicos fueron puestos en grupos de clase y dieron sus primeras clases de inglés. En las actividades de la mañana hicieron una “caja de la naturaleza”, para poder poner cosas dentro como fósiles o cosas de talleres. Luego hicieron unos sellos con huellas en ellos e inventaron luego una historia en las clases de la tarde. El juego de la tarde fue “la paloma”, que es como el béisbol pero con una pelota de fútbol, y se lo pasaron pipa. Por la noche hicieron un juego de orientación donde tenían que encontrar sobres alrededor de la residencia con piezas de puzzle dentro para poder hacer el puzzle más tarde. Ningún grupo pudo encontrar todas, así que tuvimos que ayudarles un poquillo. Mañana por la mañana subiremos las fotos de la marcha. Chao chao!

 

August 3rd week - Day 1

Hello hello! Good morning and welcome to the camp! In this blog we'll upload pictures daily so that you can check what your children are doing everyday. Yesterday was the beginning of the camp, and they got here at around 11:30 am. In the morning we told them the camp rules, showed them around and did some presentation games. After lunch and the free time to settle in the camp, they had their first English lessons where they took an English test and created their own facebooks. Then they did a game outside and went into the swimming pool. The night game yesterday was the "cops and thieves" one, where there were two teams who competed against each other. Today we have the first full day, so tomorrow we'll tell you how everything was. Bye bye!

Hola hola! Buenos días y bienvenidos al campamento! En este blog subiremos fotos diariamente para que podáis ver qué es lo que hacen vuestros hijos día a día. Ayer fue el principio del campa y llegaron aquí alrededor de las 11:30. Por la mañana les dijimos las reglas del campamento, les mostramos la residencia e hicimos algunos juegos de presentación. Después de comer y del tiempo libre para establecerse en la resi, tuvieron sus primeras clases de inglés, donde hicieron un test de inglés e hicieron sus propios facebooks. Luego hicieron un juego fuera y se metieron en la piscina. El juego nocturno fue el de "polis y cacos", donde había dos equipos que competían contra el otro. Hoy es el primer día completo, así que mañana os diremos qué tal fue todo. Chao chao!
